SCF Management Services (Cyprus) Ltd, established in Limassol, Cyprus in 1991, is a market leader in global ship management. Services include all aspects of onboard and offshore technical, crew, HSSE, vetting, commercial and shipbuilding design/project management; plus associated services.
As such the need arose to comply and exceed requirements of TMSA chapter 13 and VIQ7, to increase cybersecurity defense, as well as standardize network and security fleet infrastructure with a unified policy and centralized management. At the same time, core applications like email, telephone services and WiFi needed to be provided securely and reliably.
Logicom Solutions, as an expert in cybersecurity, immediately identified those needs, current limitations and security challenges and collaborated with the SCF Management Services IT department to reach the best solution.
First, the centralized Cisco Unified Communication Manager managed and offered secure and reliable telephone services on board the vessels. But the most important part of the solution were the Cisco Next Generation Firewall with Intrusion Prevention System and the Cisco Unified Wireless Solution on board the vessels that were adapted to every vessel in the fleet. These delivered VPN connectivity and security, managed wireless internet access and provided complete cyber attack security.
