The University community needed a portal that offered a personalised view of information, with easy access to the latest versions in a timely manner.
The goal was to supersede the existing process, in which people needed to call or visit the University in person or access different disperse systems for the information they need. In many cases, the information wasn’t always up-to-date or correct – and the process was laborious and time-consuming.
The creation of a portal would provide a personalised view of data for University users and the ability to channel information to dynamic groups of people.
The e-University Portal was built to provide a single interface for students, as well as faculty and administrative staff, where the information presented was based on user roles and group memberships. Furthermore, the e-University Portal provides a common user interface, where users can start or view the progress on processes running on other business systems of the University.
