The Cyprus University of Technology needed to implement a robust, scalable and flexible networking infrastructure to securely accommodate its dispersed locations. At the same time, they had to provide a solid basis to develop a variety of advanced technologies and services. With a diverse environment accommodating thousands of users requiring a variety of network resources, security was paramount.
Cisco’s borderless architecture provides intelligent infrastructure where a multitude of services can be implemented in a flexible and secure way. There are plans to run voice traffic over the Wireless LAN service, enabling support teams to use wireless IP phones while moving from one building of the university to another.
Additionally, the University’s strategy is to develop a unified on-campus communication system investing in solutions that integrate voice, data, video, security and mobility into a single comprehensive solution.
